With toothpicks in our eyes, Mike Helfinstine and I completed our #72HoursforALS tweetathon at midnight, this morning. It was a blast.With both the @OhioALSProject and @Food_Mike handles going, we managed to triple our followers on Twitter. We used the time to promote our Kickstarter.com fundraising campaign for our documentary film, ‘The Vincina Protocol’, as well as educate the public about NOAP and the latest findings on Lou Gehrig’s Disease and other Motor Neuron and Rare Diseases.
‘The Vincina Protocol’ is a documentary film on Vincina Helfinstine’s ALS journey and her husband Mike Helfinstine’s efforts to create a universal medical protocol for ALS and remedy the toxic dumps in Conneaut Ohio. We believe toxic chemicals leaching into the surrounding soil and pond waters, triggered a release of neurotoxins by toxic algae blooms. This contaminated water eventually flowed over and underground, through the nearby residential neighborhoods and eventually into Lake Erie, leading to her death and a persistent ALS cluster in a small area of that city.
